AI Healthcare Training
AI Healthcare Courses and Certificates
Real programs from universities, medical boards and professional bodies, sorted by the kind of credential they give and who each one actually suits.
Before you spend money, sort the options by what you get at the end, because that is the thing that differs most and gets advertised least.
- A certificate of completion says you finished a course.
- A professional certification says a body tested you.
- A medical board certification says you passed a subspecialty exam and it goes on your license.
Those are three very different purchases and they often sit side by side in search results at similar prices.
Every AI Healthcare Course and Certificate Compared
Grouped by what you hold at the end. Open a program page to see what you need first, what you get, which jobs it points toward and where those skills are used.

What Each One Is Actually Like
AI in Healthcare Specialization
University course, certificate of completion
The most commonly recommended starting point, and it earns that by spending real time on the clinical and ethical side rather than only the modeling.
AI Fundamentals in Healthcare Certificate
University certificate, non-degree
Two online courses for clinical and administrative staff: Generative AI Skills, then AI for Healthcare Professionals. It asks for no bachelor's degree, and you work through it on your own schedule.
AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation
University executive program, digital certificate
An eight-week online program for leaders who have to decide which AI projects to back. Harvard Medical School faculty teach it, and the last module is a live session where participants present a capstone project.
AI in Health Care Certificate of Specialization
University certificate of specialization
Three courses from Harvard's public health school, taken within five years. You begin with Responsible AI in Health Care, then pick two electives from implementing AI in clinical practice, building AI solutions, and agentic operations. A fourth, AI in Health Systems, is listed as coming soon.
AI for Medicine Specialization
Technical course, certificate of completion
Hands on with medical imaging and clinical prediction. Expect to write Python rather than read about it.
AI in Healthcare Certificate
University certificate, professional development hours
Four short online courses from Weill Cornell Medicine faculty: designing digital healthcare tools, data management, machine learning and natural language processing. It asks for intermediate Python and machine learning, so it suits people who already work with data.
Clinical Informatics subspecialty board certification
Board certification, physicians only
This is the heavyweight credential in the field and the only one on this page that is a medical board certification. Eligibility rules are strict and have changed over time, so read the current requirements rather than a summary.
10x10 informatics courses
Professional course, university partnered
Long running and well regarded inside the field. Many people take it to build informatics skills while they keep working. ABPM's current page lists a fellowship, not 10x10, as the way into the clinical informatics board.
Health information and data credentials
Professional certification
The credential family that matters most if your work sits on the documentation and data governance side rather than the modeling side. Directly relevant to the roles most changed by ambient AI.
Data Science Institute imaging AI programs
Professional body program
Radiology holds most of the cleared AI in US healthcare, and this is the professional body doing the practical work on how to evaluate and monitor it. The programs are about healthcare centers and algorithms, not a personal certificate.
Imaging AI Certificate Program
Professional body program, certificate
Four on-demand certificate courses built around radiology work. Foundational teaches you to judge an AI tool at any stage of a career. Advanced goes into how AI models are built. Emergency and Chest apply AI to triage and chest imaging.
Transforming Healthcare with AI short course
University short course, continuing education units
A two-day course on how healthcare AI tools learn, how to judge them, why some never reach clinical practice and what FDA approval does and does not establish. Regina Barzilay leads it, and clinicians from Massachusetts General Hospital and other hospitals share real rollouts.
Deep Learning for Healthcare Image Analysis workshop
Vendor technical training, NVIDIA DLI certificate
Genuinely technical and genuinely vendor-shaped. NVIDIA's healthcare image analysis workshop is hands-on, with a cloud GPU server for each person. It teaches the tools, not the clinical or regulatory context.
Artificial intelligence course catalog
Course marketplace
A catalog rather than a program. Listed here because it is the practical way to compare several university offerings side by side.
Which One You Need
Match the credential to the door you are trying to open, not to the brand on the certificate.
- You want to understand the field. A university course is the right buy, and the cheapest real one is fine. Nobody will ever ask which platform hosted it. What matters is that you can hold a conversation about validation and regulatory limits without bluffing.
- You want an informatics or governance job inside a hospital. Professional body courses and certifications carry more weight here than a general AI certificate, because the hiring manager knows those names and does not know the others.
- You are a physician aiming at a chief medical information officer route. The clinical informatics board certification is the credential that actually moves you. It is a fellowship of at least 24 months, so everything else here is background, not a way into it.
What the Course Pages Do Not Tell You
No prices and no start dates. Those change constantly, no free feed publishes them, and a stale figure would send you to a program that no longer exists at that cost.
Length, format and entry rules are different. Each program page copies them from the provider and shows the date we read them. Every entry links straight to the provider, so you get the current terms from the people who set them. The links are checked automatically, and any entry whose page has actually gone is removed rather than left to rot.
A Word on Vendor Training
Vendor courses teach you the vendor's tools, and that is genuinely useful when the tool is what you will be using. Just be clear with yourself about which one you are buying.
The test is simple. If the course would still make sense with the company's name removed from every slide, it is education. If it would not, it is product training, which is fine when product training is what you need.
Listing a program is not an endorsement and no provider pays to appear here. This site has no affiliate relationship with any provider listed. Length, format and entry rules are copied from each provider's own page on the date shown on that program's page. Cost and start dates are left to the provider because they change too often to keep honest. Links are checked automatically and any program whose page has genuinely gone is removed.
