Suki adds UpToDate answers to its clinical AI assistant

Suki announced on October 8, 2026 a feature called Ask, which lets a clinician ask a spoken or typed question and get back patient details such as medications, allergies, vitals, lab results and chronic conditions without searching the chart by hand. Suki says the answers use the Wolters Kluwer UpToDate Expert AI programming interface, and are grounded only in UpToDate content maintained by more than 7,600 physician authors, editors and peer reviewers. The company says early evaluations had clinician reviewers prefer answers that included patient context 83 percent of the time.

Why it matters: Pairing the chart with a reference library is a sensible move, because a correct general answer can still be the wrong answer for one patient. The 83 percent figure comes from the company's own early evaluation, so it describes what reviewers preferred rather than what happened to a patient. The buyer question underneath it is what the feature does when the chart and the reference disagree, and who is accountable for the answer a clinician acts on.
