Mercy says Aidoc cut scan-to-result time from 19.8 hours to 1.3 hours
Aidoc published findings on August 25, 2026 from a white paper on Mercy's use of its aiOS platform, which Mercy launched in January 2025. Mercy commissioned AVIA Health to run an independent review of the deployment data. The review reports that flagging the most urgent cases reduced scan-to-result turnaround time from 19.8 hours to 1.3 hours, and that Mercy and Aidoc flagged 50,749 incidental findings over five months, of which 5,642 patients received accelerated clinical attention. It also states Mercy deployed 13 AI imaging solutions across more than 50 hospitals in four months, and that those solutions now analyze roughly 2.5 million patient cases a year.
Why it matters: Operational numbers at this scale are rare and genuinely useful, because most imaging AI evidence comes from one site and a few thousand scans. The reviewer being commissioned by the customer is not the same as independent research, so treat the figures as a well-documented customer account rather than a clinical finding. The number we would want next is what happened to those 5,642 patients, since faster attention is a process result and not yet a health result.
Medicare will pay hospitals extra for Aidoc's body CT triage AI
Aidoc said on August 13, 2026 that its CARE Body CT Multi-Triage product received eligibility for the Medicare New Technology Add-on Payment under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Fiscal Year 2027 Medicare Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System final rule, effective October 1, 2026. The company describes the program as providing a Medicare fee for service add-on payment for eligible inpatient use, and does not state a dollar amount or percentage in the announcement. Aidoc states the product received FDA clearance in January 2026 and a Breakthrough Device Designation in September 2025. The payment eligibility is a Medicare coverage decision and is separate from the FDA clearance.
Why it matters: Reimbursement is the hurdle that has quietly killed good imaging AI, because a product that saves radiologist time still has to come out of someone's budget. An add-on payment moves part of the cost to Medicare for eligible inpatient cases, which makes the business case easier to write and harder to cancel. Two cautions: eligibility is not a blank cheque, since the payment applies only to qualifying inpatient stays, and the add-on payment program is time limited by design rather than permanent.
Twelve health systems form a diagnostic AI consortium with Aidoc
Aidoc announced on August 11, 2026 a Diagnostic AI Consortium with twelve US health systems: Advocate Health, Cedars-Sinai Health System, Hartford Healthcare, Houston Methodist, Mercy, Mount Sinai Health System, Northwell Health, Northwestern Medicine, Sutter Health, University of Florida Health, University Hospitals of Cleveland and WellSpan Health. Aidoc says the members will co-design AI-assisted diagnostic workflows, measure the effect on safety, quality and speed to diagnosis, and write shared rules for how the tools are governed. The company says its products run in nearly 2,000 hospitals, analyze 60 million patient cases a year, and that first results are expected in 2027.
Why it matters: Imaging AI is usually sold with one hospital's numbers attached, so a twelve-system plan to measure it is unusual and worth following. The value depends on whether the members publish results that reflect badly on the tools as well as results that flatter them. Until 2027 there is nothing to read, so today this is a promise to measure rather than a finding.
Careers and Qualifications
What to Know Before Applying
Work areas: Medical imaging AI, data science, clinical product, regulatory affairs, implementation, and commercial roles.
Qualification signal: Imaging informatics, clinical validation, PACS and EHR integration, or software medical-device experience is more useful than a general AI credential for most roles around the product.

Evidence and Regulation
FDA Clearances on Record
Aidoc appears on 30 cleared products in the federal 510(k) record, across 2 device types.
- AI Triage and Notification Software for Radiology ... 25 cleared products
- AI Lesion Prioritization Software for Radiology ... 5 cleared products
A clearance means the FDA agreed the product is close enough to something already on the market to be sold for that use. It is not a finding that the product helps patients, and it is not a ranking against anything else on this page. A company is linked to an FDA clearance only when the 510(k) applicant name on the government record is confirmed by hand to be that same company, including former corporate names. Name similarity alone is never enough, and rejected matches are listed below with the reason.
